HIP-HOP FEUD: REMINISCE BATTLES VECTOR

After what has looked like a passive feud time for Hip-Hop in Nigeria, things are heating up once again. No Thanks to rappers Vector and Reminisce.
Just two weeks ago, Remilekun ‘Reminisce’ Safaru and Olanrewaju ‘Vector’ Ogunmefun were at each other’s throats throwing verbal attacks back and forth.
The story goes that Vector had dropped a subliminal diss on Sauce Kid’s ‘Street Kitchen’ reacting to a previously released song by Reminisce titled ‘2 mushh’.
Eyin ata, ani Tomato, to ma to’ (You are pepper, we have tomato to cool down the pepper)’, Vector took jabs at Reminisce who had talked about his song being ‘hot like pepper’. In a swift response, Reminisce released ‘Ata (pepper)’ taking it a step further by sampling Vector’s subliminal and then going on to call out his name while dissing him back.
Vector responded on Twitter ‘I sow the truth, why would I reap lie? (Reply)’.
Discussions have popped up on Twitter and Facebook, as fans have begun drawing comparisons between both rappers; others are trying to figure out the genesis of the ‘beef’.
We have nothing to say’ Vector’s record label YSG told NET but sources close to the rapper say ‘Reminisce just wants to rub off Vector’s buzzing career’. We placed calls to Reminisce’s phone but he never picked up.
Vector has in the last year risen to fame after the release of his 2011 debut ‘State of Surprise’, a follow up single ‘Angeli’ with 9ice has further increased his commercial appeal.
Reminisce who is signed to Edge Records has also been having it good in recent times; His ‘Kako bi chicken’ single is receiving airplay and his debut ‘Book of Rap Stories’ is an anticipated record in the hip-hop world.
Both rappers performed live on stage at the recently concluded ‘Bashorun Gaa Versus’ concert but were never seen together. ‘The atmosphere wasn’t tense but it looked like they were both on guard’, a source backstage told NET.
