W4 performing at Industry Nite
Adewale ‘W4’ Adepoju is planning to take his artistry a notch higher with the set up of own music band.
The pop-Afrobeat singer revealed his band which he calls ‘Wonda Band’ at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 during the edition of the Industry Nite held in his honour.
‘I am officially launching my band, the wonder band and this is the first time we are performing’, he said, seconds before he wrapped his performance.
The event was well attended by big players in the Nigerian music scene including2face Idibia, Don Jazzy, Sound Sultan, Durella, Dammy Krane and a host of others.
W4 who started out as a pop artiste is heavily linked with the likes of 2face and Sound Sultan. After the release of his debut album ‘Temperature’ in 2008, he went off the grid but resurfaced in late 2010 with a new style – releasing his hit single ‘Kontrol’ adopting the Fela mantra.
‘I waka waka if not for 2baba (2face) who helped reach where I dey today’, W4 jokingly said on stage.
