Katy Perry is just as excited as the rest of us at the prospect of a collaboration with her BFF Rihanna -- so excited that she kind of stuck her foot in her mouth when talking about it, reports Pop Dust.
UPDATE: Katy Perry took to Twitter to denounce press reports that she was disparaging Beyonce's song. Here's what she had to say (Caution: Graphic Language):

Perry weighed in on the forthcoming song (which if released in time will undoubtedly be the song we're blasting all summer long), and made a subtle dig at Beyonce:
"We've collaborated on a lot of things, but just not songs yet. It's one of those things that's got so much build-up that we have to deliver," she said during a BBC Radio 1 appearance on Monday. "I want it to be like that Eurythmics and Aretha Franklin song "Sisters Are Doin' It for Themselves," not "Beautiful Liar." But I definitely want to do something that is so iconic."
Granted, Beyonce's 2007 track "Beautiful Liar" featuring Shakira isn't the most memorable song, but it reached No. 1 on the iTunes best-seller list in March 2007 and peaked at No. 1 on the U.S. Hot Singles Sales, which isn't too shabby.
Perry doesn't have a reputation for starting fights with other celebs, so we hope she just didn't think before she mouthed off -- plus it was a strange comment to make after she just embarrassed herself covering Jay Z and Kanye West's song "N****s In Paris" at the same BBC Radio 1 appearance.
