Why do Women Bleach their Skin?

Girl on the left is same Naija babe. The one on the right is Mshoza, a South African singer who underwent skin whitening treatment because 'she was tired of being ugly'.


What I do not understand is outright bleaching of the skin complexion. Going from dark-skinned to white-skinned. Why do some women do it? They think bleaching enhances their beauty or black isn't beautiful? 

Or Guys is it that y'all are attracted to fair ladies ?? cos i just don't get it...calling BLACK ugly!!!!!
