Enyimba Clinches Third Fed Cup

Enyimba won its third Federation Cup Sunday after a 5-4 penalty shoot out win against adventurous Warri Wolves after fulltime scores stood at 2-2.
Enyimba had won the country's cup competition in 2005 and 2009.

great moments.
Nigeria international Azubuike Egwuekwe’s penalty kick was saved by Enyimba goalkeeper Femi Thomas to deny Wolves a first-ever cup triumph.
Wolves took the lead in the 23rd minute, when Musa Najere tapped home
on the goal line after skipper Egwuekwe knocked down a corner.
Enyimba restored parity 40 minutes later when the lively fullback
Bright Esieme blasted home a loose ball after goalkeeper Okiemute Odah
had punched the ball out of his goal area.
Wolves regained the lead on 79 minutes when Joseph Osadiaye netted a
rebound from inside the box after goalkeeper Femi Thomas could not hold a
shot from inside the box.
Enyimba drew level on 82 minutes through a delightfully taken free kick by left back Ugwu Uwadiegwu.
Wolves, featuring in their first-ever cup final, controlled proceedings
in the first half, but Enyimba came back into the fray after the
interval.
Enyimba striker Sibi Gwar tested the agility of goalkeeper Odah after
seven minutes and 10 minutes later, his shot from the top of the box was
wide off its mark.

Early in the second half, Enyimba showed their intentions when Andrew Abalogu drew a good save from Wolves shot stopper Odah.
Meanwhile, Abia State Governor, Theodore Orji, has congratulated the team for winning the competition.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Ugochukwu Emezue,
Governor Orji described the Aba-based team outing in Lagos as highly
spectacular.
The governor said that he was proud of the boys and their management
team for giving him and the good people of the state an anniversary gift
to mark the state's 22 year creation marked last month.
He said that he was particularly pleased with Enyimba's determination having from behind to win the coveted trophy.
Governor Orji also charged Abians to imbibe this spirit of not giving
in any situation and bring it to bear on the development of the God's
Own State.
He promised to support the team in winning their continental aspiration next year.
Delta State Governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan has congratulated Enyimba of Aba for winning the 2013 Federation Cup.
