Ghana Appoints new president

Ghana's new president is 53 year old writer and historian, John Dramani Mahama. Mahama had been the vice president before he was sworn in as president this evening following the sudden death of John Atta Mills.

RIP John Atta Mills......  Just two days after celebrating his 68th birthday, the President of Ghana John Atta Mills passed away.Ghana Television announced that he died yesterday at 37 Military hospital in Accra...aged 68. The cause of death is still sketchy but Mr Mills has been ill for while. His office also released a statement to Reuters announcing his death. May his soul rest in peace...amen
